How to separate alkaloids from EOPO- and PEG- polymers?

I'm trying extraction with CHCl3 (3 times) and next evaporation under vacuum ... but it is not too efficient...
Do you have better ideas?

Have you tried extracting the alkaloid into water at a pH which would ionize it?  It may also require extra ionic strength - the "salting out" effect.
