A question about equilibrium!
« on: January 23, 2008, 07:23:01 PM »
This is the question : Calculate the value of the equilibrium constant in the following reaction if 1.5 mol of A and 2.5 mol of B are placed in 1.00 L of solution and allowed to come to equilibrium. The equilibrium concentration of C is found to be 0.45 M.
     A + B →C + D

ICE it!

Might be a dumb question, but what does ICE it mean? (Not everyone uses the same syllabus for these things, and ice is not exactly an uncommon word to Google ;) )

Thanks - knew it was a dumb question - I've never heard or seen it referred to as such.

I don't suppose there's a table out there with a list of common equilibrium constants for STP conditions, is there?  I mean, if I start acid dissociation experiments in the near future, I'd like to have something to compare my results against.

Sorry.  I can see how that was off topic.
