What weight of hydrogen would have to be carried by a hiker to generate 350 kJ of heat in order to bring 1.00 L of water from 4C to 100C?
I don't really understand what it is asking for.

You need the heat of combustion of hydrogen to find required moles of hydrogen to give off 350 kJ.
