Why Wood's Metal has such a low melting point?
« on: February 17, 2008, 01:03:09 AM »
Wood's Metal is an alloy of bismuth, lead, tin and cadmiun. These four elements have have melting points ranging from 271-328'C.

So why the alloy, Wood's Metal will have such a low melting point, 71'C?
Weak metallic bond between them?
