Chem Vocab: Definitions Need quite quickly please
« on: February 18, 2008, 08:53:14 PM »
Ok, the only places these words even appear on the net is on super-complicted  physics sites, so i need you to help me define them:

Baryon
Gluon
Hadron
Lepton
Meson
Neutrino
quark
Quanta
and
Hertz

If you could define these it would really be a livesaver

PS: Good choice on the Simpsons quotes!

PSS: I already tried wikipedia enah-guy!

If you truly have no need at all for any of the theory at all, then a paper or online dictionary should be what you're looking for, if not the glossary of your textbook.

Good thing about wiki is it tends to give more dumbed down definitions, especially the top intro part. Should be more than enough for high school purposes.

Although I've ran into a couple articles on there that are overly complicated and probably weren't even right.

In fact...
Quote from: wikipedia
In particle physics, gluons (from glue + -on) are elementary particles that cause quarks to interact, and are indirectly responsible for the binding of protons and neutrons together in atomic nuclei.

Sounds pretty simplistic to me, and it's the first thing.
