need quick answer: how much of the product is produced?
« on: February 21, 2008, 09:28:22 PM »
4 HCl + O2 ® 2 H2O + 2 Cl2
When 5.86 grams of O2 react with 9.34 grams of HCl, which is the limiting reagent?
HCl is the limiting reactant. 3.81g left of O2.

How many grams of Cl2 are produced in the reaction?

I am stumped about this one. Due at midnight on loncappa so a quick reply would be much appreciated. I figured out what is the limiting reacant but can't remember how to find how much of the product is produced. The textbook isn't much help and the teacher never really explained it.

Sorry. The teacher gave it to us today and I got home from work at around 6 and have been trying to figure it out along with other problems. All I need is a push in the right direction.
