Chemical Formula for Steel
« on: March 12, 2005, 03:19:30 PM »
Have a school project where I need the chemical formula for steel.  I have the general list of elements in steel but I was hoping to find a chemical formula.  I have an e-mail into the Steel Institute, but I don't think they will respond.  Thanks for any help.

Steel is a mixture of at least Fe and C (carbon is soved in iron, partially just solved, partially it creates a compound called cementite) so there is no formula.
