Structure of neutral phenolphthalein
« on: March 14, 2005, 07:08:48 PM »
Hey, I need to find the structure of neutral phenolphthalein as part of my lab report.  I have already found stuctures for the colorless acid form and the pink basic form, but I can't find the neutral form anywhere.  Please help. Thanks!

I know you must know your acid-base Chemistry well enough to answer your own question.

Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Phenolpthalein is colourless below pH=8 (approximate value), and what does it mean?
