Decaborane (B10 H14)
« on: March 15, 2008, 07:21:54 PM »
Hi experts, i wanted to know that co-ordinates of the H atoms in the decaborane structure. I have got the B positions...alternatively B-H-B angles will be very helpful as well, then with these i can evaluate the H atom postions.

Thanks so much !! need it in a hurry, dont seem to find it anywhere !!

Thanks again.

No doubt cute, lol, and I have definitely looked at Wikipedia !!
But, I do not just need the Photo/picture, i need to know specifically the co-ordinates OR bond angles, bond lengths, etc... as I have to construct the complete decaborane molecule using a software for modelling purposes !

Thanks !

I tried plugging the structure into some 3d modeling, and according to the NIST webbook some of the boron atoms have 6 bonds and some of the hydrogens have 2 bonds which my modeling program doesn't really like.  You may be able to estimate the bond angles by utilizing the fact that the article states the structure is an incomplete Icosahedron
