Organic reaction - multi steps reaction
« on: March 18, 2008, 01:28:36 PM »

How do you design the steps of reaction for the above reaction. (no more than 5 steps)?
Can anyone help me or give me some clues about this reaction?
how do you add methyl group to an alkene?
For chain elongation, I thought of converting -OH to -X then to react with Li metal, then react it with Gilman reagent. But it is more than the 5 steps.
Then how do we do the intra-chain condensation for this reaction?

The reaction scheme is available here: http://bp2.blogger.com/_2ADAC4zLTbc/R9_6JWe85oI/AAAAAAAAABc/0r3Hck1ULwA/s1600/organic.gif

I dont know why it is not posted here. I apologize for it.

I don't see the reaction scheme.  Try posting an attachment.
