methane + carbon dioxide

Would equal quantities of methane and carbon dioxide react under pressure? CH4 + CO2 ---> 2C + 2H20 ?
Would a spark be required? Explosive? Give off heat?
Thanks.

Determine the delta G.

The temperature and pressure, as well as form of Carbon are unknown.
CH4 + CO2 --> 2C + 2H20
I am more interested in experimental results, not Gibbs Free Energy-
because kinetics would be involved.
Thanks.

The form of carbon would be graphite. I just want to know if the process is energitically realistic. Take the 5 minutes to prove it. Unless your increasing the temperature >1000C the heat of formation values should be approximately accurate.
