bulk electrolysis
« on: April 21, 2008, 05:47:52 AM »
Hello friends. i am doing bulk electrolysis using three electrode potentiostat. My working electrode is the carbon electrode and the platinum spiral is the countur electrode and Ag/AgCl is the reference electrode using CH Instruments (bulkelectrolysis with coulometry). I did the electrolysis for the more than five hours (in literature it is given only 30 min for most of the compounds) at which the potential the compound undergoes reduction. (fixed as the peak potential of the cyclic voltammetry). Finally i did the work up and analysed my compound but the reducde product is not formed.

I tried it for more than five times but i didn't get the product. If anyone familier in bulk electrolysis using CH Instrumnets 660A please help me. Is there any trick to get the electrolysed product?.
Please help me...

Thank you.
