C5H5N5S  FW =167.2.

Is FW the same as MW? And does FW stands for Formula weight?

Thanks.

Molecular weight and formula weight - chemists seem to use them the same.  Molecules are covelently bonded and formulas are for the unit formulas of ionic substances, but they are often used as the same term.

grams/mole

FW and MW are sometimes the same. But for example, for oxalic acid H2C2O4, MW=90, and FW is calculated for formula HCO2 with FW=45
