How to make : Bis Co / Fe salen?
« on: May 30, 2008, 02:45:44 PM »
Good Morning to all,

I would like to make an iron / cobalt bis salen for an organic catalyst.

I have made the ligand : which is an organic molecule with two discrete salen units.

Now the problem is the following : how can I put one Co(2+) and one Fe(2+) =Salen1(Co)-Salen2(Fe)?

Since I have try, when I add 1 equivalents of Co(OAc)2.4H2O I have half of a a precipitate (in chloroform) of Salen1(Co)-Salen2(Co) and half of free ligand

Thank you for your precious *delete me*
