Calculations
« on: June 20, 2008, 07:01:30 AM »
I have 90% GA4 and I need to get 5Liters of 1.9%GA solution. How many grams of GA I need? How do I calculate it?

All help highly appreciated.

Thanks.

A liitle bit chaotic for me.

%w/w? Known densities? Do you want to weight solution, or measure its volume?

What I have is powdered 90%GA. I need to make 5 liters of 1.9%GA solution. I dont know how many grams of GA I have to add to 5 liters to obtain 1.9%GA solution.

Sorry my english is not very good.
Thank you.

GA == Glycolic Acid?

You have to assume that density of 1.9% solution is close to that of pure water (unless you happen to have density table of GA). Calculate mass of the final solution, mass of the GA in that solution, than how much of your powder contains this mass.

GA4 probably means gibberellin A4. You can easily calculate your problem assuming density of a final solution as that of water.
Start from calulation how much of pure GA4 you need for 5000 g of solution then coorect  calculations for 90% content of GA4.
