A2 Chemistry 'Wet Test'
« on: June 26, 2008, 07:07:24 PM »
What is the reaction mechanism when an Ester such as ethyl ethanoate reacts with phosporus pentachloride?

The reaction equation (which may not be correct):
CH3COOCH2CH3 + PCL5--> HCl + POCL3+ CH3COCH2CH2Cl <--- not sure!

Thanx in advance :)
Nothing is impossible because being impossible is possible.
