Calculate the wavelength and the freqeuency.
« on: August 03, 2008, 06:59:30 AM »
1- Ham radio often broadcast on the 6 meter band. What is the frequency of this electromagnetic radiation in MHz?

I know that the frequency = speed/wavelenght, but what does the 6 meter represent here?

2-what is the energy (in J) of a photon of electromagnetic radiation that has a wavelenght of 9.00 meter?

3-What is the maximum number of electron can occupy each of the following subshell
a. 5p
b. 5f

I know that p can occupy 6 electrons, but when it says 5p, does that mean I should count from 1s to 5p?

Thank you in advance

Wavelength.

No, just 5p, so 6 is a correct answer.
