Examples follow:

If you want to display
Use the following code
Code: [Select]
## y = mx + b /##

Here is another one:
Simply put this:
Code: [Select]
## dE = (dQ)_{rev} + dW /##
I hope this makes life easier for you guys. Feel free to practice in this thread.

Mitch

Here is a tutorial for using math with latex:

Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Code: [Select]
## \mathrm{C}_6\mathrm{H}_{12}\mathrm{O}_6\, +\, 6\mathrm{O}_2 \,\rightarrow\, 6\mathrm{CO}_2\, +\, 6\mathrm{H}_2\mathrm{O} /##
I'm really not convinced that was easier than using the regular forum notation, but whatever. :)

wow! this is cool!! great job mitch.

Quote
$$ \mathrm{C}_6\mathrm{H}_{12}\mathrm{O}_6\, +\, 6\mathrm{O}_2 \,\rightarrow\, 6\mathrm{CO}_2\, +\, 6\mathrm{H}_2\mathrm{O} /$$

Hmm?!? lol well, i think once we get the pattens right, it will be easier, like start and end with $$? i will practice and try it out later  :)

thanks again!!
No matters what results are waiting for us, it's nothing but the DESTINY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it doesn't make sense for reactions (I prefer UBBC exported from EBAS then, much less work with formatting, as EBAS does the formatting automagically), but even for simple math it does wonders.

$$ a_i = \frac {b_i + c_i} {1 + \sqrt{d^2 + e_i^2}} /$$

X^2 = (Observed - Expected)^2 / Expected

$$ /dfrac{Observed - Expected}^2{Expected} /$$
