Hess's Law: Adding/subtracting Chem. Equations
« on: September 30, 2008, 02:30:26 PM »
Hey whats up. I'm having problems adding and subtracting chemical equations. Namely this problem.

2C(s) + O29(g) - 2CO(g) change in H = -221 kJ
C(s) + O2(g) - CO2(g) change in H = -393 kJ

Also, why does Gibbs energy have the same units as enthalpy?
