Find the pH of a mixture of 100ml 0.5M Hcl and 200ml 0.1M HCl
how can i find it?

find the moles of H+ released by both, find liters of solution.

is that mean 100/1000 x 0.5 and 200/1000 x 0.1 ?
then what?

Add and divide by final volume.

Add - to get total moles. Divide - to find concentration. Final volume - you have mixed two solutions of known volumes. No idea what to explain :(

so is that mean
100/1000 x 0.5 + 200/1000 x 0.1
= 0.05 + 0.02
= 0.07

then 0.07 x 300/1000 = 0.021
so pH = -log0.021 = 1.68??

so is that mean
100/1000 x 0.5 + 200/1000 x 0.1
= 0.05 + 0.02
= 0.07

So far so good. 0.07 mole of HCl.

Quote
then 0.07 x 300/1000 = 0.021

Divide by the volume, not multiply.

so is 0.07 x 1000/300 = 0.233
then pH = -log 0.2333 = 0.632 ?

or

0.07/300 = 0.000233
then pH = -log 0.000233 = 3.633 ?

which one is correct? thx so much for your help

Check your units and it will be obvious.

What units is your concetration expressed in?

What units is your concetration expressed in?
0.07mole in 300ml
V/1000 x M = mole = 300/1000 x M = 0.07
M = 0.07 x 1000/300 = 0.233
so pH = -log 0.233 = 0.632
correct?
