Empirical Forumla and Molecular Forumla

1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

Reductic acid contains 52.63% carbon, 5.30% hydrogen and 42.07% oxygen by mass.
a) Determine the empirical formula of reductic acid

b) If 1.23 g of reductic acid contains 3.25x10^22 atoms of carbon, what is the molecular formula of reductic acid ?

c) Calculate the mass of one molecule of reductic acid.

2. Relevant equations

-

3. The attempt at a solution

I already found the empirical formula and found that to be C5H6O3. But I can't seem to get the other parts. Thanks for the help.

How many atoms of carbon are in one of your molecules?
So then how many atoms of your molecule do you have?
How many mols is that?
M = g/m, you know grams and now mols, so you now know M.

I got the answer but not sure how. I know 6.022x10^23 is a conversion factor between atoms and moles so I did (3.25x10^22/6.022x10^23). But you need to divide by 5 again. I don't understand why, I though you could multiply by 5.

As Enahs earlier asked: how many atoms of carbon per one molecule of acid?

You know you have 100 matches. You know there are 10 matches per box. How many boxes do you have?

You know you have 3.25x1022 atoms of carbon. You know there are 5 atoms per molecule. How many molecules do you have?

It's the same.
