Why does aluminum replace copper in copper II chloride but not in the sulfate or nitrate forms?

aluminium should be able to replace copper in any forms...

the only thing that is inhibiting their reaction as far as i can tell is the unreactive Al2O3 layer.
one learns best by teaching
