Hi there...

              I have been asked by my friend, does nitric oxide (NO) react with water? If does, what is the product formed? From what i know, nitric oxide react with oxygen in the air and form nitrogen dioxide (NO2). What happen if nitric oxide gas is mixed with water in a tank?

2. 2NO2 + H2O = HNO2 + HNO3
