these questions are from the lab, it's titled Enthalpy Change of Neutralization Reaction Data Sheet:

1) Does doubling the volumes of acid and base in a neutralization reaction double the amount of heat released? Explain.


I looked at my lab result and it doesn't, but I think it really should double with the heat


2) What factors affect the value of /_\H neut? Explain each one.


the amount of acid and base put in right? or how strong a acid or base is?


3) Based on a total reaction volume of 100 mL, what volumes of 1M sulfuric acid and 1M sodium hydroxide will produce the greatest amount of heat?


My guess on this is that the one with the highest temperature difference between its initial and final temperature right? I would not know since I only did 1 determination


I am frustrated, can someone come and clean things up a bit?

1. Of course it would. If enthalpy is in energy/mol than the more moles the more energy (ie heat).

1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
