Homework help: Calculating Change in Enthalpy
« on: November 30, 2008, 04:53:12 PM »
Hi, I'm new to the forum and I like Chemistry, although I'm still in the early stages. I have a problem on my homework that's really not covered too well in the chapter we're on. Can anyone help me on how to solve this? Here is the question:

Use the standard enthalpies of formation to calculate the enthalpy change when 0.054 g of sulfur burns forming SO2 (g)?

You have to show some attempt. Start it off with formation equation and any formulas that you are aware off that linked enthalpy change of formation with enthalpy change of reaction?
No matters what results are waiting for us, it's nothing but the DESTINY!!!!!!!!!!!!
