Calculating Eofcell
« on: May 01, 2005, 08:52:35 PM »
I think I am making this questions harder than they are supposed to be. I can't seem to come even close to the right answer.

A voltaic cell consists of an Mn/Mn2+ half-cell and a Pb/Pb2+ half-cell. Calculate [Mn2+] when Ecell is 1.119 and [Pb2+] = 1.274 M.

The right answe is supposed to be 0.00593.

A voltaic cell consists of an Ni/Ni2+ half-cell and a Co/Co2+ half-cell. Calculate Ecell when [Ni2+] = 0.00344 M and [Co2+] = 1.088 M.

The right answer is supposed to be -0.044.
