Lost attachments
« on: January 27, 2009, 05:09:42 PM »
It seems that older attachments cannot be opened anymore.  I can't tell if it's just old attachments or if it's attachments posted before the move to the new server...

It is attachments before the server change. I can't move them without timing out repeatedly.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

If you need a specific file, I might be able to dig it out.

Nah, not really, but just noticed in a old thread that was recently posted in, that I couldn't open the attachment.  But it's sad to lose all of those attachments, some of which may have helpful info in them.

Yes, all attachments for 2008 have been moved over. I'll move over more next free-chance I get.

.pdfs might have privacy permissions that make their copy/pasting to a new server location impossible.

Dear Mr. Borek;

For once your guess is not correct, because they survived the "Big Server Move" quite well.

When macman104 started this thread we are in, after the "Big Server Move", he initiated me to check the status of both attachments and I found them and in fine shape.

The accident must have been happen later, maybe at the same moment when all these other more than 120 postings were emptied too!

Dear Mitch:     Can you fix/reinstall both attachments if I send you a copy of each?
I think only in this kind if they are really lost, and especially because the thread is referenced by other topics!
(That’s also why I got the message about.)

Good Luck!

Dear Mitch;

I’m still waiting for three answers to my questions above!

Kind regards!

P.S.:  It seems that you very rarely read/check your pm,  if at all.
