International Research Opportunities
« on: January 25, 2009, 11:17:52 AM »
I'm most likely going to be doing the daad program in Germany in a little over a year, but that's also really the only one I know of, so I was wondering if anyone could suggest some other things to look into.  Thanks  :)

Dear nj_bartel;

Could StudEx be something comparable to DAAD ?:

Good Luck!

Are you only looking for international research summer programs and such? As there are some really good ones here in the US as well.

I'd be willing to hear about them, but I have a study abroad scholarship, and not being particularly well endowed monetarilly, would like to use that money to visit an area (other country) that would normally be out of my budget.  However, if it's a particularly good program or interesting part of the states, I'm definitely open to considering it.

If you go to NSF's website you will find a lot of REU programs, both international and domestic.
www.nsf.gov
Type in REU in the search field and you will find a lot of programs.
I hope it helps.

It does, thanks.  The snippet on the subjects covered in the programs is very nice.

Another good one is
ORISE: Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education
Science Education Page:
