I dont really understand why ionisation energy of boron is higher than lithium...
I know because the atomic radius of boron is smaller than lithium..
That's why the effective nuclear charge of boron is higher, causing the electrons to be pulled closer to the nucleus..
But if using Slater's rules..
The effective nuclear energy of boron is higher than lithium ..
Then why the ionisation energy of boron is higher than lithium..
