Entropy compressor isentropic efficiency
« on: March 06, 2009, 12:18:14 AM »
1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

Air flowing at 1 meter cubed / second enters an adiabatic compresses at 20 degrees celsius and 1 bar. It exits at 200 degrees Celsius. The isentropic efficiency is 80%. Calculate the exit pressure and power required.

2. Relevant equations

3. The attempt at a solution

I have no idea how to start, I feel completely lost can anyone offer some insight to get me started at least? Thank you.

Hello physstudent1,

Lets start from the beginning. Do you remember any equations that have pressure, temperature and volume in them?

Sincerely,

Eugene
