Role of phosphoric acid in the synthesis of aspirin.

Does this statement sound correct?:
Phosphoric acid serves as a catalyst to help speed up a reaction. Phosphoric acid donates H+ protons to other atoms around it, making it a protonation; therefore, as a catalyst, it transfers protons.

^ Is there something I can add to the last part of my statement? I feel that "it transfers protons" does not explain enough.

Also, I'm having trouble figuring out this question:
Is it possible to obtain over 100% yield? Explain.

From what I understand, if a yield of over 100% is obtain then the experiment was done incorrectly. In the experiment, there was an excess of acetic anhydride and if it does not get washed out, it adds more to the weight - but I don't know how to further explain myself for an answer.

Anyone care to elaborate for me? Thanks!
