Material for cold trap
« on: March 23, 2009, 10:51:04 AM »
Hello everybody!

Could the normal vacuum flasks used for vacuum filtration be used also for temperatures in the range of dry ice/acetone mixture (-78 degrees celsius).:o...how durable is this material for this 2 harsh conditions (temperature and vacuum)....If not from which material could someone improvise such flask?

The thick walled glass typically used as a vacuum receiver is not significantly weakened by those cold temperatures, so it should work fine.
