reduction step for redox

Cu + HNO3  :rarrow: Cu(NO3)2 + NO + H2O

Cu + 4H+ + 2NO3-  :rarrow: Cu2+ + NO3- + NO + 2H2O

oxidation:
Cu  :rarrow: Cu2+ + 2e-

reduction: (this is where i have the problem, i found one, but there are 2 reduction equations, and i cannot see where the one comes from)
2NO3 + 4H+ + 3e-  :rarrow: NO + 2H2O

the other reduction equation is:
8H+ + 2NO3- + 3Cu  :rarrow: 3Cu2+ + 2NO + 4H2O     ( i have no idea where this equation came from)

This is not reduction, this is final, balanced equation. It combines reduction and oxidation reactions in such a way that electrons cancel out.
