Bronsted-Lowry theory
« on: March 30, 2009, 08:17:12 AM »
Label each substance as acid or base according to Bronsted-Lowry theory

NH2- + H2O <-----> NH2- + H3O+

My answer:

NH2-: Basic
H2O: Acidic
H3O+: Acidic

can someone confirm whatever my answers are right?

Did you write this equation, or was it completed for you?

What your professor wrote makes no sense, unless you accidentally made a typo when posting your question.

It is not even balanced (not to mention other, more serious problems).
