Im doing the lucas test and wanted to know if cholesterol was a tertiary or seconday alcohol. Thanks

Really?  From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucas%27_reagent , it seems that this is only good for low molecular weight alcohols, which isn't really correct for a large molecule like cholesterol.  At any rate, the answer is right here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholesterol .
