NMR and spin number
« on: April 15, 2009, 11:49:01 PM »
Any one can tell me how to calculate the spin no. for proton?
I mean why H spin is 1/2 and why Li is 1  and how? I read about the subject and they say that when the atom mass is odd the spin is fraction, but when the atomic mass is even and both atomic no and no of neutrons is even the spin is zero? but again how and why? what is the  basis for this?
