Flame emission Spectroscopy
« on: April 19, 2009, 10:56:53 AM »

How does it work?
Can i find a website that explains it in simple A2 level terms?

I am confused between atomic emission spectroscopy, atomic absorption and UV visible absorption?

Are absorption and emission the principles on which these work?

Nothing is impossible because being impossible is possible.

Dear Lilly;

Compare:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emission_spectroscopy
with:         http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_emission_spectroscopy
and:          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_absorption_spectroscopy
and:          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet-visible_spectroscopy
(You may also use the presented sub-links.)

Yes!,  -  "All" is based  on Absorption, and Emission, and Beer-Lambert Law:
Good Luck!
