Flame emission Spectroscopy

How does it work?
Can i find a website that explains it in simple A2 level terms?
I am confused between atomic emission spectroscopy, atomic absorption and UV visible absorption?
Are absorption and emission the principles on which these work?

Dear
Lilly
;
Compare:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emission_spectroscopy
with:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_emission_spectroscopy
and:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomic_absorption_spectroscopy
and:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultraviolet-visible_spectroscopy
(You may also use the presented sub-links.)
Yes!,
- "All" is based on Absorption, and Emission, and Beer-Lambert Law:
"
Corrected Beer's Law
"
Good Luck!
