Why is there only 1 base peak on mass spectra?

The base peak is due to the more stabke fragmentation right..
for example base peak for n-pentane is 43 because
CH3(CH2)3CH3 -->  CH3CH2.  +  CH2CH2CH3+

base peak 43 is due to CH2CH2CH3

but why isnt CH3CH2. also same peak with CH2CH2CH3 because both appear due to same fragmentation
I mean the relative abundance

can someone enlighten me?
