I've been setting up some recent spec e-chem experiments in chloroform (0.1 M TBAP) using an ITO working electrode. I've also been using a 1 cm (less ITO slide) path length for these experiments. All of these things seem completely unconventional to me. I can find almost no information on ITO electrodes or chloroform as an e-chem solvent (I seem to get a pretty good window in distilled, degassed chloroform). I have gotten some pretty good signals for my experiments, but was wondering if there was some reason why platinum mesh and other solvents are preferred over a setup like this? and as long as my UV-Vis spectrum is obtainable, would there be any problems I'm not aware of with the data?
