Stability of aquaous l-ascorbic acid
« on: June 07, 2009, 01:34:17 PM »
Does anyone know the stability of aquaous l-ascorbic acid for storage?

Say, storage at 25oC and the solution is saturated.

Do adding of EDTA Calcium Disodium help to stabilise it?

One day for a standardized solution; seven days for an approximate solution, eg, "5% ascorbate". EDTA will prevent metal-catalyzed oxidation; make sure it doesn't interfere with the intended use.
