DMSO / Water distillation
« on: July 06, 2009, 03:27:37 AM »
Hello everybody,

I'm very new in this forum: I hope we will spend some interesting time together!

I have a chemical issue (::)) with DMSO. Because of its efficiency and its positive health data, I would like to use it as a solvent in a chemical reaction, then dilute my product with water and, as far as possible, remove the DMSO at a concentration level lower than 5%.

I would like to know if DMSO + water are forming an azetropic solution, and if so, if it is a minimum or maximum temperature azeotrope, its distillation temperature and the composition of it? (in fact I doesn't know anything on DMSO, and I'd like to know everything on the couple water-DMSO)

Many thanks for your bright comments!
