Pollution

(1/1)

watchtherocks:
Look, I've been tasked with researching iron pollution, and I swear the stuff doesn't exist. As it is not refined as extensively as other heavy-metals, it is not such an enviromental problem, but it is still there, none the less, and I need ot find out about it. I've been looking in everything I can find, and all the web. This forum is a last ditch attemp at finding some useful information. I understand that iron may not pollute on its own, like mercury, but is mixed with other elements and compounds, such as the substance chalcopyrite, which is copper, sulphide and iron. And I also understand, or so I believe, that iron is a waste product during mining processes, but I am not entirely sure. Some websites just mention it off chance, then go back to talking about the effects of ionic copper.  If anyone reading this has just even the slightest knowledge of what I'm talking about, or knows a website with even a link to a good site, please, please reply.

my only idea is about iron oxide (rust)
