Some people recommended me Physical Chemistry by Atkins.

I would like to hear your opinions too:).

Thanks

I do have Atkins as my Physical Chemistry textbook, too. Our professor wants us to try reading Physical Chemistry by Ira N. Levine so I guess that counts as one good book too. Haven't read Levine's book, though. But I think Atkins' explains better. ;D

i second Atkins, beware though the 8th edition (the latest one) is full of small errors, especially in the images.

The seventh edition will be cheaper and may be better.

I really like the text by McQuarrie and Simon.  It's very self-contained and explains concepts more clearly and often in more detail than Atkins, but at the cost of not covering as many topics (e.g., electrochemistry).

Which one?
Oxford or Freeman?

I use McQuarrie and Simon as a supplemental text. A bit expensive for a book written in 1997 so my belief is that its a highly valued textbook.
