Nucleophilic Attack
« on: July 30, 2009, 01:38:17 PM »
Which of these is more susceptible to a nucleophilic attack?
1)Cyclopropanone
2)Cyclopentanone

I think it would be cyclopropanone since the ring would be strained. What do you guys say about that?

hi :), you are right, Cyclopropanone is more susceptible to a nucleophilic attack because high strain that it has, so it is really unstable.
all the best, amir
