Iron oxides
« on: September 19, 2009, 04:49:53 PM »
i am making iron oxide using electrolysis method (2 nail in a cup of salt water with battery)
Correct me if im wrong but would the product be Fe2O since water only has one oxygen atom?

what would happen if you where to add hydrogen peroxide to the mix would it make Fe2O3 since hydrogen peroxide is H2O2

when i did it without peroxide i got black stuff but when i added the peroxide it turned red
