Hi, I just want to make sure that this is correct. thanks :)

Which of the following is the correct set of quantum numbers for an electron in a 3d orbital ?

a)   n = 3       l = 2       ml = −2       ms = +1/2

b)   n = 3       l = 2       ml = 3       ms = −1/2

c)   n = 2       l = 2       ml = 2       ms = +1/2

d)   n = 2       l = 3       ml = −2       ms = +1/2

You're close to the correct answer, but you need to consider what the "3" signifies in the 3d orbital's name.
