Hey all, this isn't for a class or anything. I'm just wondering for some experimenting on my own, is there a catalyst for this reaction?

I've been told that if you actually put volcano ash into your vinegar/baking soda volcano that it will catalyze the reaction :)

seriously, though, how much faster do you want it to go?

I don't really know, I just wanted a safe reaction to show kids, that I could catalyze to show the effects of catalysts.

Cigarette ash (or better MnO2) and hydrogen peroxide.
