Can any one update me about cold finger device mostly for crude oil, what is it and how it work?

A cold finger is a common laboratory implement, typically used for crystallizing vapors.  A quick check on wikipedia or some Googling will give you a diagram and applications.  It is really just a dead-end condenser, for solids, unlike a fractional distillation condenser, which is used for liquids, and has to capture the liquid. How specifically it's used for crude oil analysis will depend on your specific application.

Really, it is a rod that gets cold ... thats it...
