Vinyl Glue?
« on: November 05, 2009, 01:20:32 PM »
I have this tube of adhesive that is very effective at joining to pieces of vinyl together, but the tube is small and came in some kit or another of which I don't recall. I was curious to if anyone knows of a commercial name for this stuff? I'd like to acquire some more for future projects.

The label simply reads:
Methyl Ethyl Ketone 40% (technically it says MEK 40%, but I assume it's this)
Toluene 10%
Acetone 10%
Polyurethane 10%
Ethyl Acetate 10%

(and flammable, dont inhale, etc)

Thank you for any responses in advance.

I make and fromulate glue for a living.  There are a few things you have to remember.

Most manufacturers, inlcuding myself, wont give out specifics and quantities but will identify as a a solvent adhesive of a vinyl adhesive.  I know that one of our formulations resembles your requested formula, but your best is to search for vinyl:solvent:adhesive.  We sell ours to the public and Id be happy to point u towards my glue but i dont know how competitive we are in the larger quantity pricing (probably not very).

Know that solvent based glues will ship as a hazardous material and assuming you find some out there could have a giant surcharge attached to its shipping costs.

How much are you looking for?
