This is the equilibrium for the unfolding/folding of a protein at high temperatures.
Folded<-->Unfolded
For a given sample,
At 57°C, 50% of the sample is folded.
at 64°C, 90% of the sample is unfolded.
(A) Calculate ΔH° of unfolding. (Assume ΔH and ΔS remain constant through the temperature range under consideration.)
(C) Calculate ΔS° of unfolding
Not sure where to start here. I think this will have something to do with the number of available configurations for the protein, i.e. 2^n where n is the number of protein molecules.
∆S=Kb ln(Ω1/Ω2)? I just need some help on where to start with this one. Thanks.
